Jin Young Ko – The Rise of a Golfing Legend

There was always going to be one to watch when it comes to golf in recent times, and it looks as though Jin Young Ko has easily filled that position. Having been made a member of the LPGA Tour for the 2018 season, the young Korean player seemed adamant to make a name for herself, and she did exactly that.

So, how exactly did she obtain such a superstar status if she only became a part of the LPGA Tour in 2018. Two years is a short period of time, but Jin has proven time and time again that that is no barrier. After all, she won her opening tournament in February of 2018, which was the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open, and she did this as only the second player in LPGA history to win in her first tournament as a Tour member. Obviously, from that moment on, she was destined for big things.

The same year of 2018 saw Jin finish in the top 10 a total of 13 times over out of the 25 tournaments she played. It was this that led her to be named as the LPGA Rookie of the Year, and she completed that year’s season as the world’s 10th-ranked female player.

Yet, it was in 2019 that she found even greater success, when she won her first two LPGA Major championships. These took place at the ANA Inspiration (where she held off stiff competition from Lee Mi-hyang and Lexi Thompson) and the Evian Championship. She completed that season with the Vare Trophy for the lowest scoring average and was also named as the LPGA Player of the Year in the process.

Other Accolades of the Korean Sensation

It was also in 2019 that Ko won the Bank of Hope Founders Cup, and this took place prior to her first Major win. However, once she had claimed that Major, she was elevated in status to the number one player in the Women’s World Golf Rankings. This led to an increase in the number of people who were backing her with their sports bets. Various platforms witnessed bettors taking the opportunity to wager on Ko winning additional tournaments – and these bets all became wins.

Those people looking to engage in sports betting on Jin for the 2020 season can do so at a number of online platforms. Yet, why not take a look at the Silentbet.com website, where you’ll find a variety of sportsbook reviews on hand? This will allow you to read up on the sportsbooks themselves, so you can see exactly what they offer and which golfing tournaments are available to bet on. This way, you’ll find all the events that Jin is competing in.

What makes her second Major win of 2019 even more impressive, is that she captured the victory in the pouring rain by two shots with a 15-under total of 269. She would then proceed onwards to win the Canadian Women’s Open in Ontario, shooting a tournament record of -26 (262) and claiming the victory by 5 strokes. She would then go bogey-free for a tour-record 114 holes at the Cambia Portland Classic, outdoing the 110 holes record set by Tiger woods in 2000.
