Rory McIlroy has admitted his frustration at a lack of major success in the past three years and is eyeing US PGA Championship glory.

The 28-year-old has four majors under his belt, with just the Masters missing from his CV, but he last claimed one of the sport’s big four events back in 2014.

That was the Northern Irishman?s best year to date as he also won the Open Championship, the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and capped it all with a second US PGA title.

There have been highs and lows since then, while the Ryder Cup star has had to battle with a few niggling injuries and the 2017 campaign has not been his best as a result. Can he return to form, and win that elusive fifth major? Visit the best betting sites at FanBet for all the latest odds.

A couple of missed cuts were followed by a share of fourth at the Open and now the world number four is relishing a return to a happy hunting ground in Charlotte for the year’s final major.

“I’m excited. I feel like I’ve been going for a fifth major for a long time so I think it’s about time I stepped up and won one,” he said.

“But yeah, I’m excited to go back to Quail Hollow. Quail Hollow is one of those courses that I’ve had a lot of success on in the past.”
