Spaniard Sergio Garcia is confident that he can still improve his game as he tries to win a major in the next few years.

At 19, Garcia finished as a runner-up at the US PGA Championship and many expected him to kick on.

However, now aged 37, Garcia has yet to win a major title, despite claiming 11 victories on the European Tour and nine more on the PGA.

He has finished second at a major on four occasions but Garcia is confident of ending that long wait in the coming years.

Garcia told Golf Magic: “The hunger is still there. I still want to keep achieving things. I still want to keep becoming a better golfer when it comes down to my career.

“I think that fortunately for me, I’m still in good shape. Physically I’m still doing well. I’ve been able to avoid injuries for pretty much my whole career, so that’s always a positive.

“I’m excited to keep improving, keep giving myself chances at winning tournaments, winning majors and then just give the best that I have got in me.”
