Padraig Harrington is looking to book a spot in the season-ending Rolex Series and will play in the Andalucia Valderrama Masters.

The Irishman is the latest addition to the field for the tournament hosted by the Sergio Garcia Foundation, and he is keen to secure a decent finish with bigger things on the horizon.

The 2018 Race to Dubai is now in the thinking of most players and the three-time major winner is no different.

“Valderrama is one of the best golf courses we have in Europe,” he said. “It?s a great tournament venue and a really good course to play.

“I?m just outside the automatic qualifying spots for the Turkish Airlines Open, so I need to make a few more points to get to Turkey. So it?s a great opportunity for me to go to a course I?m very familiar with, and get a bit of sun on my back too, so I?m looking forward to it.”

And the veteran believes he is playing well enough to make a splash in the final regular European Tour event before the Rolex Series.

“My form has been good, so hopefully I can take that form into the week, because I certainly need a decent performance,” he added.
