Marc Leishman birdied his last hole to finish with a two-under 68 to move into a share of the lead at the Travelers Championship.

The 2012 winner of the event is looking for his second PGA Tour title but he must maintain his form over the weekend.

The Australian is tied with 2015 rookie of the year Daniel Berger (67), Russell Henley (65) and Tyrone Van Aswegen (66) on seven-under par.

American trio Jerry Kelly, Patrick Rodgers and Robert Garrigus are just a shot further back alongside Scotland’s Russell Knox.

Leishman and his fellow leaders had to manage the changing conditions on Friday afternoon and the 32-year-old was pleased with his round.

“The wind got up a little bit today, so you had to be playing good golf to shoot a really good number,” he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.

While four players are out in front, defending champion Bubba Watson is still in contention just four shots further back. He is tied with Patrick Reed while fellow American Matt Kuchar is one shot better off on four-under.
