Matthew Fitzpatrick has revealed the final tournaments he will feature in as the European Tour season comes to a close.

Fitzpatrick has enjoyed another good campaign on both the European and PGA Tour and he clinched the Nordea Masters back in June, beating Denmark’s Lasse Jensen by three strokes.

The 22-year-old from Sheffield also automatically qualified for Darren Clarke’s 2016 Ryder Cup team although he failed to win a single point from the two matches he played in.

He lost in the foursomes when partnered with Sweden’s reigning Open champion Henrik Stenson before being beaten 4&3 by Zach Johnson in the last singles contest.

England’s rising star has had a busy campaign already, having featured in 27 competitions across the world, but he confirmed he will compete at the WGC – HSBC Champions, Turkish Airlines Open, Nedbank Golf Challenge and the DP World Tour Championship.

Fitzpatrick did say his immediate plan is to have a week off before getting back into competitive action as he aims to improve on his world number 50 ranking before the year is out.

The two-time European Tour winner has struggled in the last two events, having missed the cut at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship before ending up in a share of 49th at the British Masters, the tournament he won back in 2015.

Some time away from the course could be exactly what is needed to recharge the batteries and make a strong push for glory in the remaining four competitions.
